Taki dedicates ‘new-look’ Arun Dairy Plant to Capital region

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development Minister Tage Taki inaugurated the ‘new-look’ Arun Dairy Plant (APD) at Karsingsa today, paving way to meet the requirements of people of Itanagar Capital Complex.

Taki was accompanied by Tana Hali Tara, MLA cum Advisor to Minister AH, V&DD and Dr N D Minto, Director AH, V&DD apart from a host of officers and staff of the Dairy Plant.

The APD was recently refurbished by the department under State Plan scheme and is processing and marketing 750 litres of pasteurized and packaged fluid milk per day collected from dairy farmers across Papum Pare district and adjoining areas of Assam.

The Dairy Plant with a processing capacity of 5000 liter per hour has been installed with robust modern dairy machinery. The packaged fluid milk is being sold across the Capital region at a reasonable rate.

With the inauguration of the dairy plant, it is expected that the dairy farmers across the district will be benefitted by this venture of GoAP as they can sell their produce directly to the dairy plant and earn a secure financial benefit.

The Minister said that few such projects are in the pipeline to augment the dairying scenario in the State.
