BOMDILA, Nov 24: A day-long integrated communication and outreach programme on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was conducted at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Salari village in West Kameng district by by Field Outreach Bureau, Bomdila, Ministry of I & B, Govt of India in collaboration with KGBV Salari.
Speaking on the occasion, the resource person Doba Nyicyor (teacher of KGBV Salari) briefed the importance of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 12th March, 2021 at Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat.
He recalled the brave freedom fighters and leaders of the country, who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the motherland. He pointed that the younger generation must know about the history and struggle made by freedom fighters of India.
Salari village GB Tsering Dorjee Rokpu, who inaugurated the programme, said that freedom is an important gift of our freedom fighters. He advised the students to be devoted to their study to become an able and good citizen of India. Gram Panchayat Member of Salari, Tsering Tashi Dungling and R Kamsha of FOB, Bomdila also spoke on the occasion.
To mark the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, essay writing and drawing competitions were held on Tuesday at the KGBV and the winners were awarded attractive prizes.
