AALO, Jan 28: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato has given away medals and certificates to all Taekwondo players from the district who participated in the 25th State level Taekwondo Championship held recently at Sagalee, Papum Pare district and bagged as many as 14 medals, including 3 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.
The medal-winning athletes are: Gold: Jumgam Gamlin (Cadet Boys over 65 kg, Lige Kamki (Sub Junior boys under -35 kg) and Nyapi Ingo; Silver: Bijom Ngomdir (Cadet Boys under -37kg), Tapo Popak (Cadet Boys under -33kg), Gomli Romin (Sub-Junior Boys under -21 kg), Momoko Tatu (Cadet Girls under -47 kg) and Sonam Kumari (Junior Girls under - 44 kg). The bronze medalists are Terngam Bole (Sub-Junior Girls under -32 kg), Tobi Ete (Cadet Girls under -47 kg), Doki Ete (Sub-Junior Boys under -23 kg), Moji Naso (Sub-Junior Boys under -44 kg), Lige Ori Junior (Boys under - 48 kg) and Rasidul Ali (Sub-Junior Boys under -50 kg).
The DC and Sports and Youth Officer Tumto Loyi exhorted the budding sportspersons to keep the tempo and fare better in future too. The district’s boys have been doing well for successive years under the tutelage of Margam Karbak, technical director of West Siang Taekwondo Association. (DIPRO)
