YINGKIONG, Jan 28: Mariyang-Geku MLA Kanggong Taku today visited the site of the fire mishap at Padu village under Mariyang sub-division of Upper Siang district where the granary of one T Tayeng was completely damaged on January 25 last.
The ‘verification board’ formed for the loss/damage assessment also visited the spot.
As reported by the villagers, the fire broke out at the granary after it was struck by lightning. However, there was no report of any casualty. The blaze completely gutted the house along with the stored grains, local beads, traditional items like Dangki, Aram, Gale, Gadu, etc. (DIPRO)
