ZIRO, Feb 4: The Zonal level mass awareness programme on the topic “Why delisting of converted persons from scheduled tribe list is necessary” was organized here at Danyi Piilo ground, Hapoli on Thursday (Feb 3) which was attended by the indigenous faith believers from Lower Subansiri, Kurung Kumey, Kamle and adjoining districts.
The State convenor of Janjati Surakhsa Manch (JSM), Gichik Taja, in his brief speech appealed all the followers of Danyi Piilo "to continue to fight till the mission is completed".
Participating as a resource person, the guest speaker Dr Emi Rumi delivered the keynote address highlighting the salient features of indigenous people. In his brief speech, he advocated preservation of rich tribal culture and heritage. Milli Teshi, Yapung Dolo and Yadam Bayor were the other guest speakers at the programme.
President IFSCAP LSD, Mudang Elyu, requested the JSM to organize mass awareness programme at state level.
Dr Hage Tabyo, president, ADPMNC and its gen secy Rubu Taming also spoke on the occasion. Tania Marak, the program coordinator offered the formal vote of thanks to the gathering.
