Tage Rita bags Nari Shakti Puraskar


ITANAGAR, Mar 8: Tage Rita Takhe, a young woman entrepreneur from Arunachal Pradesh, was today awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar for her outstanding work in promoting women’s entrepreneurship and indigenous products globally.
She was presented the prestigious recognition by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovid, at New Delhi on the occasion of International Women’s Day, along with 28 other women from across the country for their outstanding contributions to women’s empowerment, particularly towards vulnerable and marginalized women.
A native of Ziro, Rita is India's first Kiwi wine brewer and has been working to expand the winery and establish a state-of-the-art world-class winery along with a wine academy to teach locals the skill and become empowered.
She was the only woman from the entire Northeast to win the prestigious award for the year 2021.
Meanwhile, congratulatory messages from different quarters started pouring in for Tage Rita on being conferred with the Nari Shakti Purushkar.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Pema Khandu wrote: “Congratulations to Smt Tage Rita Ji on being honoured with #NariShaktiPurushkar 2021 by Hon President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind Ji on #InternationalWomensDay. An epitome of #WomenEmpowerment, she is the lone woman from North East to receive this prestigious award for 2021.”
Dy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju and State Agriculture & Horticulture Minister Tage Taki also conveyed their heartiest congratulations to Tage Rita on being awarded the Nari Shakti Puraskar.
