Rebia flags off special ambulances, bike ambulances for Taraso, Mengio PHCs

YUPIA, May 13: The Papum Pare district administration on Friday launched two special ambulances and two custom-built bike ambulances for the Primary Health Centers (PHCs) of Taraso and Mengio circles, considered to be the most remote outposts of the district with communication bottlenecks existing till date.

Rajya Sabha MP Nabam Rebia flagged off the ambulances and bike ambulances at the Papum Pare DC office complex here in presence of Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, DMO Dr K Perme, Mengio EAC Tana Bapu, Tarasso CO Rome Mele, head of departments, programme officers and other health officials.

With a view to cater medical facilities for these two remote circles, the DC initiated the idea of providing ambulances that can have off-roading capabilities to a certain extent. And with this intent, two ambulances were provided for the PHCs of Taraso and Mengio. Also, for the first time in Arunachal Pradesh, the two custom-built bikes with boxes for medical accessories were designed by the district administration for the two health facilities.

Further, considering the low penetration of telecommunication in Taraso and Mengio circles, eight sets of high frequency walkie-talkies were also distributed for both the PHCs. Moreover, the DC provided a motorbike to the Taraso Circle Office for the purpose of Dak delivery and other official works, and a generator set to the Mengio EAC office. (DIPRO)
