Total hip replacement done at DH Tawang

TAWANG, May 13: In a major medical achievement by a State-run health facility in Arunachal Pradesh, total hip replacement was done ‘successfully’ by an orthopaedic surgeon at Khandro Drowa Sangmo (KDS) District Hospital, Tawang on Friday.

The 39-year-old local male patient, who had a painful limp for over a year, was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis of the right hip joint. Total hip joint replacement surgery was performed by the orthopaedic surgeon Dr Dukhum Magu and his team at KDS District Hospital, Tawang.

Total hip replacement is a major orthopedic operation that needs the best surgical acumen.

As per the Medical Superintendent of KDS District Hospital, Dr Dukhum Magu has conducted many major orthopedic procedures including Ilizarov operation, Tibia nailing and correction of many malunion of long bones.

Dr Magu informed that there are many more orthopedic cases in Tawang which can very well be corrected. He advised the people to come forward for consultations. (DIPRO)
