ITANAGAR, May 13: The All Dalbing Students’ Union (ADSU), supported by the Mariyang Area Students’ Union, All Dalbing Students’ and Parents’ Association and local Panchayat members, today staged a peaceful dharna at Kolung Station, Dalbing under Mariyang circle in Upper Siang district.
The protest was carried out after its series of representations regarding ‘poor’ quality of work in the project, Construction of Kolung to Dalbing PMGSY road, went unheeded.
The ADSU alleged that the executing agency, RWD, has not been following the approved DPR for the said work.
“The materials used for the pavement of granular sub-base (GSB) and water bound macadam (WBM) and culverts in the project are found to be sub-standard, as per DPR guidelines. Moreover, the acute shortage of required equipment or machinery has been noticed at the construction site,” they claimed.
