Sainik School E/Siang cadets domicile of Assam to get merit scholarship from Govt of Assam

PASIGHAT, Jun 4: On the initiative of Sainik School, Niglok (East Siang) Principal Commander Praveen Kumar Pola, the Government of Assam has sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 40,000 to the cadets domicile of Assam studying in the school from the academic year 2021-22.

The Principal has conveyed his gratitude to Mamata Hojai, Director Elementary Education, Govt of Assam, for her prompt action and appreciated the hard work of staffers of Subedar GSS Krishna and Kumar Bannu for follow-up action to get the scholarship sanctioned by the Assam government.

Principal Pola further informed that the school has also taken up the issue with the governments of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal too to sanction annual merit scholarship to the cadets domicile of the States, studying in the Sainik School here. 

He also mentioned that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has already sanctioned an annual merit scholarship of Rs 95,535 to all APST cadets studying in the Sainik School (East Siang) from 2018-19. (DIPRO)
