ABVKA president assures support in ‘documentation, preservation of tribal culture’

ITANAGAR, Jun 22: The president of Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA), Ramchandra Kharadi was felicitated in a public meeting-cum-felicitation programme, organized by the Arunachal Vikas Parishad (AVP) at the multipurpose cultural hall, Namsai on Monday.

Kharadi was felicitated by a host of dignitaries including Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLAs - Zingnu Namchoom (Namsai) and Jummum Ete Deori (Lekang), Techi Gubin, State president AVP, and many others from various tribes viz Kaman-Tawra Mishmi, Idu Mishmi, Adi, Galo, Khamti, Singpho, Tangsa, Moran, Ahom, Adivasi, etc.

In his presidential speech, Kharadi enlightened the gathering about the activities carried out by the ABVKA for the larger interest of the tribal people across the nation. Appreciating the state government's gesture on creation of a separate department for the indigenous people of the State, he requested the Dy CM for providing skill development training to the youth to become a job provider rather than job seeker especially through IIT graduates.

Further, he called upon the tribal people to come forward to protect and preserve their culture and assured to extend support in documenting and preserving the tribal culture and customs across the nation.

ABVKA national organizing secretary Atul Jog, in his keynote address, enlightened the house about its inception and activities (Kalyan Ashram) in the entire nation and its achievements so far in nation building through empowering the tribal people of the nation.

He also mentioned how Kalyan Ashram is assisting in preservation and documentation of rich tradition and culture of various tribes of the country.

Zingnu Namchoom, in his speech, enlightened the house about his participation in the activities of AVP since his childhood. He also mentioned how they used to work and participate in various programmes of AVP in the form of a karyakarta as well as a well-wisher. He further wished all participants a safe and healthy stay at Namsai and safe journey henceforth.
