ITANAGAR, Jun 23: Namsai district of Arunachal Pradesh has topped the Aspirational districts list in the country on the basis of its overall performance in the month of April, 2022 – a great feat for which the Aspirational district is ‘set’ to get a financial benefit of Rs five crore, according to a communiqué from the NITI Aayog.
“It gives me immense pleasure to inform you that on the basis of performance in the month of April 2022, Namsai district in your State has secured first rank in Overall and has become entitled to receive additional allocation of Rs 5 crore,” Rakesh Ranjan, Mission Director (Aspirational District), NITI Aayog said in a communiqué to the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary.
As per the scheme guidelines, the district has to prepare a Plan of Action (PoA)/Project Proposal in consultation with the State and Central Prabhari Officer and send the same to NITI Aayog for final approval of the Empowered Committee Secretaries constituted for the Aspirational Districts Programme. The Mission Director requested the CS to direct the DC concerned to formulate the proposal in consultation with the PMU (Project Management Unit) latest by July 10 for availing the additional allocation.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein congratulated the people and administration of Namsai for securing the top rank.

Earlier sharing the news, Dy CM Mein wrote in social media post: “Glad to share this good news that Namsai District has secured 1st rank in overall performance for the month of April’ 22 through challenge method under Aspirational Districts Programme. Subsequently, the District has become entitled to receive an additional allocation of Rs 5 Cr.
