DC chairs District TB Forum meeting

ZIRO, Jun 24: A meeting of the District TB Forum cum District TB Co-morbidity Committee was held on Thursday at the office chamber of DC here under the chairmanship of Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Bamin Nime.

In his speech, the DC-cum-Chairman advocated for utilizing public functions like Dree festival celebration etc as platform for carrying out awareness activities.

Dr Tage Kanno, DMO-cum-vice chairman, emphasized the need for creating awareness on the availability of latest TB diagnostic tools like CBNAAT and TrueNat and the availability of highest quality TB drugs free of cost to the public.

Dr. Hage Nibo, District Tuberculosis Officer presented a PPT on the TB scenario in the district. Showing concern on the dropping down of TB case notification post Covid-19 Pandemic, he emphasized the need to work towards increasing TB notification urgently.

Nopnya, Project Manager, Tarbu Daleh Multipurpose Cooperative Society, also presented a PPT on activity report on TI project.

Two TB Champions shared their success story and appraised the receipt of Poshan Yojna incentives and decentralization of DOTS at doorstep.

A parent of a TB patient appreciated the cordial behaviour and monitoring of patients by NTEP personnel, while sharing her experience during the treatment of her ward.

Hage Dolo, ZPM Hari, also shared his experience on working with the Health department since his school days and assured his full support to end TB by 2025.
