Opt for institutional delivery to reduce MMR & IMR in LDV: DC

ROING, Aug 5: Mother and Child Care Kit, a care kit comprising of nutritional supplement drink for the mother, a set of baby clothes, cotton nappies, cloth wraps, baby hygiene products etc, to be given to a new-born baby and mother upon institutional delivery, was introduced today in the Lower Dibang Valley district by Deputy Commissioner Soumya Saurabh in presence of ZPM Rajen Microw, DMO Dr T Taki, HoDs, doctors and public of Abali area.

The kits were first presented to four women and their babies who were born in government hospitals from May to July 2022 and were from the Abali village and nearby areas.

DC Soumya Saurabh said that these kits contained products that were thoughtfully put together and would be useful for the mother and babies and encouraged pregnant women to register their pregnancy and opt for institutional deliveries to reduce MMR and IMR in the district.

The Mother and Child Care Kit is a continuation of the Mother and Child Information Kit, a folder given to pregnant women on their prenatal checkup consisting of forms for birth registration, Aadhar registration, Dulari Kanya, Sukanya Samridhi and other government welfare schemes registration.
