60 freshly infected, 71 recuperate

ITANAGAR, Aug 5: In a continuing trend, the State on Thursday saw the recoveries (71) going past the fresh cases (60) that slumped its active caseload to 389.

With this, the total number of confirmed cases has increased to 66,106 and that of the discharged/recovered cases to 65,421. Till now, State has registered 296 COVID casualties, stated a bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services here this evening.

A bulk of the fresh cases came from Namsai (nine), followed by Siang (eight). Itanagar Capital Complex detected six cases and Upper Siang five. Dibang Valley, East Siang, Kamle and West Kameng found four cases each, while Leparada recorded three cases, among other districts.

16 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 44 symptomatic, according to the bulletin.

On the brighter side, ICC registered 13 cured cases. This was followed by Namsai and Leparada (nine each). Lower Subansiri discharged six patients, as W/Kameng and Lohit did five each, among others.

Meanwhile, the State on the day tested 370 samples for Covid-19 that took the cumulative figure to 12,84,658.
