Guv, CM congratulate Vice President-elect

ITANAGAR, Aug 7: State Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have congratulated Jagdeep Dhankhar on being elected as Vice President of India on Saturday, defeating the joint Opposition candidate Margaret Alva.

Conveying his best wishes to the Vice President-elect for “a productive and successful tenure”, the Governor said that Jagdeep Dhankhar with his vast experience will serve the people with dedication and diligence for building a prosperous and peaceful nation. He also said that the nation will benefit from the long and rich experience of public life of Dhankhar.

Wishing the VP-elect, CM Khandu said, “A son of soil, Dhankhar Ji has travelled a long way. Starting from Kithana in Rajasthan, he has had an illustrious career spanning many decades in legal & legislative fields.

A man with humility & conviction, Dhankhar Ji is the face of a New resilient India. He has overcome innumerable challenges in his life to achieve his goal. He has worked assiduously for welfare of farmers, youth, poor and women. We look forward to his guidance.”
