GUWAHATI, Aug 7: The triennial general meeting (TGM) of Chemists & Druggists Association of Assam was held at the Institute of Engineers (India), Panbazar, Guwahati on Sunday.
In the meeting, the Association demanded to stop online sale till amendment of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Rules, 1945. Pharmacy Act 1948 should be governed in respect of online sale, and Right to poor retailers should be protected with implementation of “Live and Let Live” policy for small and micro businesses.
Reiterating that patient safety is the first priority for rational use of drugs, it called for reduction of prices of life-saving drugs, implementation of e-prescription in true spirit with proper code, and misuse of self medicated drugs.
Patient friendly approach from all our members and service to the patient is our soul motto, the chemists & druggists body said.
