Arunachal records 32 more Covid cases, 51 recoveries

Itanagar, Aug 7: Maintaining its current trend in the Coronavirus infection, Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday reported 32 fresh Covid19 cases as against 51 recoveries that slumped its active caseload to 348, a senior health official said.

With this, the Northeastern state’s tally of confirmed cases increased to 66,196 and the total number of recoveries to 65,552, State Surveillance Officer-IDSP Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The day’s positivity rate was 11.94 per cent, while it was 17.46 per cent, the previous day.

Of the new positive cases, eight were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, four each in Namsai and Upper Siang, three in East Siang, two each in Changlang, Lower Dibang Valley and West Kameng, and one apiece in Anjaw, Dibang Valley, Kamle, Leparada, Lohit, Pakke Kessang and Tawang.

Seven of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 25 symptomatic. The State collected 268 samples for Covid testing during the last 24 hours which took its cumulative count figure to 12,85,252.

The state’s Covid toll remained unchanged at 296. The case positivity rate stood at 0.52 per cent, the recovery rate at 99.03 per cent and the fatality rate at 0.45 per cent. (UNI)
