All set to celebrate Int’l Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples

ITANAGAR, Aug 7: The Arunachal Citizen’s Right (ACR) is all set to celebrate the International Day of World’s Indigenous Peoples on August 9 (Tuesday) at Don Bosco College, Jullang (Itanagar) with the theme “The Role of Indigenous Women in the Preservation and Transmission of Traditional Knowledge”.

The day-long celebration will be marked by the presentation of indigenous dances and musical instruments, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. Phoolman Chaudhary, Vice Chair to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), Dr Joram Begi, former Chief Information Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh, and Dr Moghani Hanieh, incoming new member to the UNPFII will join the celebration, informed Bamang Tago, coordinator of the celebration committee.
