Nonya Chimyang is ‘Miss Chalo Loku 2022’

KHONSA, Nov 24: Nonya Chimyang has been crowned “Miss Chalo Loku 2022” at the Miss Chalo Loku 2022 Pageant, which was organized by the 54th Nocte Chalo Loku celebration committee at Nehru Stadium, Khonsa last evening.

Post winning the beauty contest, the 26-year-old Nonya, daughter of Khunyam Chimyang of Lapnan village, received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh from Namsai MLA & State BJP general secretary Zingnu Namchoom.

While awarding the prizes at the beauty pageant, Namchoom said that the Noctes are very polite and traditionally rich.

The chief guest appreciated all 14 contestants of Miss Chalo Loku 2022 for their beautiful performances and extended best wishes to them for their future endeavours.

On the occasion, individual prizes were awarded by MLAs Wanglam Sawin, Chakat Aboh and Wanglin Lowangdong, SP Tirap Kardak Riba, president 54-NCL Wanghong Panka and cultural secretary Manlang Agi.

Apart from the ‘Chalo Loku’ winner Nonya Chimyang who got a certificate along with cash award of Rs 1 lakh, the 1st runner-up title went to Changoi Sumnyan (certificate with cash award of Rs 50,000) and 2nd runner-up to Kamngun Tangjang (certificate with cash award of Rs 30,000).

Ngamnya Lowang was adjudged as ‘Miss Catwalk’ while Lovecha Homcha Lowang was awarded ‘Miss beautiful smile’ and Kammiat Tonrang was declared the winner of ‘Miss best costume’. Each of them received a certificate and cash award of Rs 10,000.

EAC Hakresha Kri, CO Dr Ripi Doni, and ATSU vice president Lomsong Kanglom were in the panel of judges.

The programme was attended by HoDs, public from different places of the district, state, country and abroad.

The Musical Night cum Miss Chalo Loku Pageant was marked by performances of Baby Mossang, Arunachal Idol-Season 4, Rock band from Guwahati, local singers Manlang Agi, Toangi Agi, Watmo Mema and Monglin Mongwang.

The program was witnessed among others by DC Tirap Taro Mize, SP Tirap Kardak Riba, 2nd in Command 6 Assam Rifles, officers from 36 Bn CRPF, HoDs and audiences from various places of Tirap district and abroad. (DIPRO)
