Three drug peddlers arrested, over 44 gm of ‘heroin’ seized

ZIRO, Nov 24: Three drug peddlers were arrested by Lower Subansiri district police today and 44.16 grams of suspected heroin recovered from them.

Acting on tip off regarding drug peddling in Ziro, a team led by SDPO Ojing Lego and comprising Insp Millo Lalyang, SI Hage Loder, SI Tadu John and Cts Tadu John, C Moidam and P Lowang under the supervision of SP Dr Sachin Singhal carried out the raid and arrested one that led to the arrest of two others.

The team raided “Ankita hotel” where one Toko Tath with suspected drugs was residing. Upon search the team found 18 vials of suspected drug/heroin under the mattress weighing 30 grams.

On further interrogation, Toko Tath disclosed that one of his friends Binny Agga was on way to Ziro from Itanagar with suspected drug/heroin in Tata Sumo.

Later, the team took their positions in the vicinity of the hotel where both Tath and Agga had planned to meet.

When Agga arrived at the scene, he was apprehended at “Nandini hotel”, Hapoli.

During the search, the team found a soap case containing a plastic pouch filled with suspected heroin weighing 14.16 grams.

Moreover, based on the revelations of Agga, the team apprehended one of his friends Bullo Talling, near “Nandini hotel” with 57 empty vials, who came to collect the suspected heroin from Agga.

During the course of action, all legal proceedings were done. The search and seizure was conducted in presence of Khoda Jalyang, town magistrate and independent witnesses.

In this connection, a case vide Ziro PS case no 19 u/s 21(b)/27(a) NDPS Act, r/w section 34 IPC has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
