PASIGHAT, Jan 24: The 21-day refreshers course for faculty training program on molecular biological applications (MBA-2022) has concluded at the College of Horticulture and Forestry, CAU here today.
The program was sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Govt of India and implemented in association with DBT-APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bio-resources and Sustainable Development, Kimin.
The main objective of the program was to impart hands-on training (up-skilling) using modern tools and techniques in advanced and emerging areas of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, so that the young faculty members and scientists from agriculture and allied departments can apply them in their teaching and research programs.
During the 21-day program experts from different institutes gave lectures on vast application of molecular biology and its unique spectrum of scientific programs on the most recent and exciting developments. Along with that, field visits were also conducted to nearby locations for a more practical approach.
In his valedictory speech, Prof DK Pandey, Dean in-charge, CHF, CAU, Pasighat stressed on the importance of imparting quality skill development to faculty members and scientists to apply them in their teaching and research programs to uplift the nation through science and technology.
The program convener Dr Yengkhom Disco Singh, assistant professor, CHF, CAU, Pasighat gave a brief on the faculty training program. A total of 14 participants from different departments of agriculture and allied sectors completed their training on MBA-2022 and were awarded with certificates by the Dean in-charge. Earlier, the program co-convener Dr T M Chanu, Assistant Professor, gave the welcome address.
