ITANAGAR, Jan 30: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) observed the 75th death anniversary of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, as Martyr's Day and paid rich tributes to Bapuji in a programme at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here today.
The programme started with flag hoisting by APCC vice-president Rajen Nani to mark the conclusion of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ (BJY), followed by paying of floral tribute to the portrait of Bapuji.
On the occasion, the APCC launched the ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Abhiyan’ - an extension of BJY - in Arunachal Pradesh. The campaign will continue for about two months which aims to “take the message of unity, harmony, equality and social justice to every door and to defend our Constitution”.
