ITANAGAR, Feb 13: The All India Radio (AIR), Itanagar celebrated the World Radio Day at its office complex here today with a small but impressive function.
Participating in the event, Deputy Director (Engg) and Head of Office, AIR Itanagar, N Ramanjanappa stressed on the importance of radio, especially in Arunachal Pradesh and appealed all the AIR staffers to give more emphasis on contents and quality of the programmes so that it can benefit its listeners.
He said, the All India Radio with its five stations across the state “has got a larger responsibility to entertain, educate and make the listeners more responsible”.
All the staff of the radio station participated in the function.
World Radio Day was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an international day to be observed on February 13 every year.
The theme for this year’s World Radio Day is "Radio and Peace".
