ICDS, Tawang holds awareness program on ‘women-centric issues

          

TAWANG, Mar 17: An awareness programme on ‘Crime against Women, PWDV Act 2005, PoSH Act 2013 and Mission Shakti’, organised by ICDS project Tawang, was held at the conference hall of DC office here today in which all presiding officers, members of internal complaint committee constituted under PoSH Act, Addl SP Thuptan Jambay, women police officers and others attended the programme.

Addressing as resource person, CDPO, ICDS project Tawang, Dondup Pema informed about the aims and objectives of the programme. She added that due to awareness programmes and with the functioning of One Stop Centre, the ‘aggrieved’ women have been benefitted and the number of registered cases of domestic violence in Tawang has increased.

She further said that reports on cases related to sexual harassment at work places are also being received by internal complaint committee.

Other resource persons - Tsering Bhuti, Centre administrator OSC Tawang, and advocates Rinchin Wangmo and Sonam Zangmu gave awareness on various issues including domestic violence, domestic relationship, kinds of violence, emotional and economic violence, protection of women from sexual harassment at work place and women’s right.
