ITANAGAR, Mar 18: The aggrieved candidates seeking appointment in the Arunachal Pradesh Police Department under compassionate grounds have called off their peaceful dharna after receiving positive assurance from the Home Minister to address their grievances.
Home Minister Bamang Felix gave the assurance following a meeting he had with the representatives of the protesters, at his official residence here on Friday.
Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club here today, Sona Mangli, president of the group, informed that the Home Minister during the meeting said that the draft guidelines for compassionate appointment under APP would be finalized within this month.
“All vacant posts under 5% compassionate grounds shall be worked out and that they will issue advertisements to fill the vacancies by PHQ within the month of April 2023,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mangli extended his gratitude to people who supported their cause.
