NAHARLAGUN, May 25: Social worker and noted artist of Arunachal Pradesh, Yami Lazi and her sisters donated 50 wooden benches to the Tertiary Cancer Centre (TCC), TRIHMS Naharlagun for the use of patients and caregivers visiting the Centre in a simple function here today. Chief Medical Superintendent, TRIHMS Hospital Dr D Raina, State Nodal Officer, Cancer Control Programme cum i/c TCC TRIHMS Dr S Tsering and other doctors and staff of the Centre were present during the occasion.
Yami, in her brief address, told the gathering that she herself had noted the difficulties faced by her family members during their stay at TRIHMS. To contribute a bit from her side and to ease the hardships of patients, she came up with the idea to contribute the benches for the hospital and later her sisters joined. She hoped that the benches shall be useful for the patients and their caregivers.
Dr Raina lauded the efforts of Yami and her sisters. He said that such efforts from individuals shall go a long way in helping the needy ones. He also requested everyone visiting the hospital to keep the premises and buildings clean and hygienic.
