Khandu releases his Govt’s report card, says ‘action speaks louder than words’

ITANAGAR, Jun 6: Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and other leaders, on Tuesday released a report card of his Govt’s performance in the past seven years, in a ‘mega’ public rally at IG Park here.

The mega rally under Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh BJP as part of party’s ‘Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan’ to celebrate the completion of nine years of Modi Govt at the Centre and seven years of Pema Khandu Govt in the State.

“We've ensured our action speaks louder than words,” Khandu wrote on his Twitter handle after releasing the report card of the state government’s “seven years of good governance and development”.

He said that “the vision of PM Narendra Modi Ji, hard work of Team Arunachal, blessings of citizens and our collective determination have yielded glorious results in past 7 years.”

“For the past 7 years, we've been steadfast and honest in our resolve and efforts to do our best to accelerate all round development of our Arunachal Pradesh. Our people's love, support and affection are a great source of strength for Team Arunachal. The pace of development will be maintained against all odds,” Khandu tweeted.

In his address at the rally, the Chief Minister, while congratulating Prime Minister Modi and his team for completely transforming India, including North East and Arunachal Pradesh, during the last nine years, highlighted the achievements of Modi Govt at the Centre and seven years of ‘seva, sushasan, samriddhi’ in the state. He asked the party karyakartas and leaders to carry forward the message on Modi Govt’s achievements on the developmental front to district, block and booth levels.

He said that Arunachal Pradesh was always challenging in the communication and connectivity sectors, but today we are witnessing a marked transformation in road, rail, air and digital connectivity. He also mentioned that Arunachal Pradesh is getting full support from New Delhi only because of best coordination of Minister Kiren Rijiju at the Centre.

Khandu also highlighted the various schemes for the welfare of the people of Arunachal Pradesh and urged karyakartas to aware about the Govt schemes and carry forward at the grassroot level to help people avail the benefits.

On the law and order front, Khandu said that safety and security of citizens and their property is top most priority of the Govt, while adding that “Itanagar being the heart of Arunachal Pradesh we need to keep it good and clean”. He said that the Govt is dealing with the law and order issue of the Itanagar capital region with iron hand.

Addressing the rally, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that since Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, Modi has completely changed the ‘face’ of the country during the last nine years of development journey.

He said there was a policy of Congress govt that no proper road should be built at the international border area but after Modi govt came to power in 2014 the policy has been changed and the ‘last’ border village is considered as the ‘first’ village for development in the border areas. “Because of Modi, today almost all border villages in Arunachal Pradesh have road connectivity,” he said.

He also said that before the 2024 polls, the Govt will provide 4G network services to all villages of the state.

Deputy CM Chowna Mein also addressed the rally and highlighted the various achievements of the Narendra Modi and Pema Khandu-led ‘double engine’ Govt. BJP State president Biyuram Wahge said that everybody knows what Modi ji did for the country during the last 9 years and its achievement should reach the grassroots level though the karyakartas.

He said that the leaders and karyakartas of BJP did lots of sacrifice for the party during the last 70 years and today we can see the fruits of their sacrifice. He urged the party karyakartas to work sincerely for the welfare of people, saying "BJP always believes in contribution, not competition".

The rally was attended by Ministers Alo Libang, Mama Natung, Taba Tedir and Tumke Bagra, several MLAs including Techi Kaso (Itanagar) and Tana Hali Tara (Doimukh), IMC Mayor Tamme Phassang and other Corporators, ZPMs, and party leaders from districts, among others. (UNI)
