Tedir urges timely completion of projects under RUSA

ITANAGAR, Jun 6: Education Minister Taba Tedir while chairing the 7th Council meeting of the Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSHEC) at the premises of the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education here today applauded the progress made by the department under RUSA programme.

While appreciating the efforts of RUSA Directorate, Tedir, also the Chairman APSHEC said that functioning of the Council is not confined to RUSA projects alone, rather it has a major role to play for the growth and development of higher education sector of the State.

He impressed upon the executing agencies and colleges to play a proactive role for timely completion and procedural compliances of the project formalities for onward submission to RUSA Mission Authority, New Delhi.

He also desired that Master Plan for every institute should be prepared keeping in view of the future expansions and the blueprints should be readily available in public domain so that planned development is taken up in a phased manner in the future.

Commissioner (Education) cum Member Secretary APSHEC, Amjad Tak told the house that State Higher Education Council is a statutory body to decide upon and to pave path for the future development of higher education as a whole in the State.

He also emphasized that all the approved projects have to be implemented in mission mode; and therefore, timely submission of utilization certificates and audited accounts is a primary requirement for efficient functioning and timely receipt of funds to complete the projects in time. He also called upon all the principals and executing agencies to act proactively on these matters.

Higher & Technical Education Director cum SPD RUSA Alik Jongkey apprised the house that RUSA projects have been a boon to the higher education sector in the State. He further informed that all the RUSA projects implemented in the State are constantly monitored by SPD RUSA and Institutional Project Monitoring Units to ensure quality and timely completion of the projects.

DDHE cum DSPD (RUSA) Minto Ete while presenting the progress report on the various ongoing RUSA projects in the State highlighted the importance of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in developing the infrastructural facilities in the higher education institutions in the State.
