PASIGHAT, Jul 10: East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu has opined that students could achieve success only when they work hard with smartness, which is the key to shine in any exam and in life.
Addressing the students, parents and teachers at a felicitation function in the Sainik School East Siang (SSES), Niglok today, Taggu said: “Competition is more about fighting your own battle. No one can be successful without fighting everyday battles. If you win the everyday battle, you win the war. Students should incorporate smartness and work hard to achieve great heights in life.”
Gracing the occasion as chief guest, the DC appreciated the students in particular and the school as a whole for securing 97% first division in a maiden attempt in the recent class-X board exam. He enlightened the participants about the importance of goal setting and time management, adding that striking the right balance between hard work and smart work was important.
Students could achieve success only when they work hard with smartness and that would be the key to shine in any exam and in life, stated Taggu. He urged the toppers to remain true to the school motto ‘Education, Character and Nationalism’ and wished them all success in their future endeavours.
Terming the teachers as the nation’s builders, the DC said that students could bring good results because teachers were performing their duties with utmost dedication, sincerity, punctuality and discipline. He also said that teachers could play a pivotal role in motivating students in the field of cleanliness, health care, personality development and hygienic living.
He appreciated Principal Praveen Kr Pola for his vision and tireless efforts which could bring visible development during his short tenure.
On the occasion, the DC honoured all five achievers with mementos who recently topped in class-X board examination (AISSE) 2023. The achievers are cadets Zingbai Tali (district topper), Hage Abing, Aditya Raj and Sanghe Khandu. He also felicitated the achievers of East Zone football tournament, held at Punglwa, Nagaland - cadets Ato Tai Pordung (Sub-junior, Intra group ‘E’) and Phutong Wangsu (Junior, Intra group ‘E’)
Earlier, SSES Principal Pola, in his address, expressed joy and pride over the achievement of students of the school.
Briefing about the importance of career counseling, he informed that state-of-the-art laboratories, Obstacle Course and NDA Motivational Hall have been established for preparing class-XI students with a focus on NDA, JEE (for Naval Academy) and NEET (for AFMC).
In addition to academics, less vacation was being planned to make up for the loss of time. Pola acknowledged the efforts put in by the management, staff and parents which helped the students secure excellent results and exhorted them to build new skills, stay morally upright and absorb the good values from people all around us and make life worthwhile by being compassionate and working diligently.
