UBA orientation workshop

NIRJULI, Sep 17: The Regional Coordinating Institute of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), NERIST here took a monumental step towards rural development and community empowerment by organizing a one-day "orientation workshop for participating institutes to initiate work in adopted village clusters" on Friday last. The event, hosted at NERIST ET cell, united 60 enthusiastic representatives from various Participating Institutes (PIs) across Arunachal Pradesh, setting in motion a journey toward holistic village development.

These PIs, comprising educational institutions and non-governmental organizations, came together with a common vision to leverage their combined expertise for the betterment of rural communities.

The primary goal of this initiative is to empower adopted village clusters by addressing their distinct challenges and promoting comprehensive development. Collaboration will encompass projects spanning education, healthcare, infrastructure, socio-economic development, etc, stated a release here.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof Narendranath S, Director of NERIST. In his address, he highlighted the potential of this initiative to transform the lives of thousands within the adopted village clusters, emphasizing the collaboration of educational institutions, NGOs, and stakeholders for inclusive development.

Attending the event, Dr A K Mishra, SLO for NSS, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh, stressed the significance of partnerships between academic institutions, civil society organizations, and the government in advancing rural areas.

Prof P Lingfa, the Regional Coordinator of UBA NERIST Cell and also Dean of Students’ Affairs delivered the keynote address, underscoring the significant contribution that higher education institutions can make towards fostering sustainable development in rural India. Furthermore, he illuminated the role of UBA in the nation-building endeavour through the progress of villages.

Dr T Patel, the organizing secretary and coordinator of UBA NERIST Cell, shared essential guidelines during the technical session on the submission of UBA Project Proposals. This remarkable gathering of dedicated individuals and organizations signifies a new dawn in the journey towards a prosperous and inclusive rural Arunachal Pradesh, driven by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, the release added.
