Lowangdong launches water treatment plant at Pullong village

KHONSA, Feb 11: Borduria-Bogapani MLA Wanglin Lowangdong today inaugurated the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Pullong village in the presence of Tirap DC in-charge Tana Bapu, Borduria CO Yowa Anya, PHED EE Bharat Sonam, Kapu ZPM Wiram Matey, Nocte Women's Association chairperson Chasoam Wangchadong and others.

The Pullong village had been lacking alternative water supply sources, making the implementation of this project imperative. The newly inaugurated WTP ensures uninterrupted water supply to the village.

Built at the estimated cost of Rs 4.91 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the WTP with 55,000 litres/day capacity will be sufficient for Pullong village towards ensuring functional tap connections to 156 households (Har Ghar Jal), as per JJM guidelines.

Expressing their gratitude, the villagers commended the MLA Lowangdong and the executing agency, PHE&WS Dept for undertaking the WTP project at their village.

In his congratulatory message to the people of Pullong village, Lowangdong praised the PHED team for the successful and timely completion of the project. This accomplishment reflects the commitment and dedication of all involved parties to providing essential services to the community, he said. (DIPRO)
