4 drug peddlers nabbed with 37.78 gram heroin

ITANAGAR, Feb 11: The Banderdewa Police has apprehended four drug peddlers and recovered suspected heroin from their possession, a senior police officer said on Sunday.

In its continuous effort to combat drug trafficking, Banderdewa Police apprehended four individuals transporting suspected heroin in ICR, Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo said.

He said that acting on intelligence about movement of drug peddlers, the Banderdewa Police team on Saturday intercepted a suspected vehicle coming from Assam at Doli-Koto area under Banderdewa PS. Upon search, three soap cases containing suspected contraband drug heroin weighing 37.78 gram were recovered from them.

The four alleged accused have been identified as Md Ali Akbar (32), Md Jakaria Alom (24), Md Hibjul Rahman (24) and Md Bahar Uddin (20) - all hailing from various villages in Assam, the SP said.
