Union minister hands over job letters to 48 candidates in Meghalaya

Shillong, Feb 12: Union Minister of State for Education Dr Subhas Sarkar handed over appointment letters to 48 new recruits in various central government agencies here in Meghalaya on Monday following the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.

The appointment letters were given to successful candidates belonging to North Eastern Hill University, North Eastern Police Academy, Employees Provident Fund Organisation, North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited , North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Science and Department of Post.

Expressing his delight for the successful organisation of the Rozgar Mela, Sarkar said a significant step has been taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide job opportunities for the youth and ensure the welfare of citizens.

Highlighting that the Rozgar Mela is a significant addition to the various initiatives of the central government, Sarkar said that the mission mode recruitment drive is expected to result in the filling up of 10 lakh jobs and it is also expected to lead to the creation of additional employment in private and public sectors.

Underscoring the effectiveness of Karmayogi Prarambh module launched by Prime Minister Modi, the Minister said that the module includes a code of conduct for Government servants, workplace ethics and integrity, and government’s human resources policies and rules that will help them to get acclimatised to the policies and transition smoothly into the new roles.

He also informed that the Department of Personnel and Training had launched a Mobile Application of iGOT Karmayogi Portal, which would make it easy to access the Karmayogi Portal.

Speaking about the various reforms been brought about in the government sector, Sarkar said that that apart from making recruitments at a massive and unprecedented scale, there is also a special focus on granting timely promotions to all the officers working in various government organisations and with timely promotions at all levels, more vacancies are likely to be created at entry-level posts.

Extending his heartiest congratulations to the newly recruits, Sarkar said, “I am sure that the new appointees will be involved in building New India with innovative ideas, cutting-edge technology, and public participation. I would also like to add that all these new appointees will work as a motivation for others to work hard and stay committed to the goal”.

He added : “Our government is committed to creating various systems, processes, and policies aimed at developing a self-reliant India. I would also like to thank all the department officials present here”.

Natasha Manners from Meghalaya while interacting with the Minister expressed her gratefulness for Prime Minister Modi and expressed her hope that the region will get more opportunities and assistance from the Central Government in the days to come.

She urged other youths from Meghalaya to apply for the Central Government jobs also. Manners got her appointment in NEIGRIHMS. (UNI)
