World Veterinary Day celebrated

TEZU/NAMSAI/YINGKIONG, Apr 27: The Arunachal Pradesh Veterinarians Association (APVA), Lohit unit in collaboration with the Dept of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary today celebrated the World Veterinary Day (WVD) at District Veterinary Hospital, Tezu. The theme for the WVD celebration was ‘Veterinarians are essential health workers’.

The APVA district unit organised livestock awareness cum free anti-rabies vaccination camp for pets. Since the theme of this year's WVD celebration was related to health workers, medicos of the Zonal Hospital, Tezu were invited in the program underlining their crucial role in fighting some of the dreaded diseases that are often transmitted through animals to humans.

As a part of the World Veterinary Day observance, an ‘elephant health camp’ was held at Tengapani (Namsai) today. The camp was organized by the Arunachal Pradesh Veterinary Association (APVA) in collaboration with the Dept of Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development, Namsai district.

The Dept of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, Upper Siang district observed the World Veterinary Day 2024 at Yingkiong with the theme “Veterinarians are essential health workers,” emphasizing their crucial role in healthcare.

DVO Dr Emo Lego alongwith with his team of doctors and staff created awareness on animal health among pet lovers and availability of life-saving services at all vet centres in the district.

To mark the day, a free anti-rabies vaccination camp was organised for dogs and cats at the District Veterinary Hospital, Yingkiong. Many pet owners of the area benefited from the camp.
