Leave no stone unturned in nabbing all culprits involved in ‘sex racket’ case: APSCPCR Chairperson to ICR Police

ITANAGAR, May 14: Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) Chairperson Ratan Anya, while hailing the efforts of the Capital Police led by SP Rohit Rajbir Singh in unearthing the inter-state child trafficking and sex racket involving minor girls in the State capital, stated that the Commission has taken the case very seriously and exhorted the police to leave no stone unturned in nabbing all culprits involved in the case.

The APSCPCR Chairperson exhorted this while she along with two of its members Taba Champa Riba & Honluk Lukham and Arunachal Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) member Bamang Tago met the Capital SP here today to get an update on the recent case of inter-state trafficking and sex racket involving minors.

Stating that “the instant case has shocked the entire State by the audacity of the offender to run such criminal activity without any fear of law and without any sympathy and remorse for the minor victims”, Anya said that the Commission has taken the case very seriously and urged the police to leave no stone unturned in nabbing all culprits involved in the case.

During the meeting, the APSCPCR Chairperson also requested the SP to conduct a thorough investigation within the stipulated time in order to ensure speedy trial of the case and to deliver justice to the “aggrieved” victims.

The Commission exuded hope that the case is fast tracked and all the offenders involved be awarded “exemplary” punishment in order to send a strong and clear message to the public to refrain from committing such a similar act.

Anya further requested the Capital Police to assist in the documentation process during the filing of victim compensation for all the victims in the case.

The Commission also encouraged all concerned citizens to provide any confidential information to the Commission in case of witnessing the violation of child rights in and around their vicinity. “Such nature of crime where the innocence of the children is sold like commodities without any fear of law can never be allowed to exist and thrive in a civilized society,” she asserted.

Moreover, the APSHRC member requested the SP to provide complete protection to the victims as this case involves “extreme level of human rights violation”.
