PASIGHAT, May 14: The Women and Child Development (WCD) department today celebrated Mother’s Day 2024 under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBB) scheme at the SEED’s Children’s Home conference hall, Yapgo, Pasighat.
The event was attended by CDPOs of ICDS Project Pasighat/Mebo, teachers and staffers of SEED’s Children Home, Supervisors (ICDS)/Gram sevikas/field staff, Anganwadi workers of ICDS projects.
Deputy Director (ICDS) Machi Gao highlighted the details of the programme and the importance of celebration of Mother’s Day’.
In her keynote address, Gao said that a mother’s love is like on other as it is an endless well of strength, courage, compassion and the fuel that enables us to do the impossible and hence, the bond with one’s mother transcends words, time and distance and to celebrate the comfort, safety and unwavering support that we find in mother’s arms.
Mother’s Day is marked to show love, appreciation and recognition for her irreplaceable role in a family.
The DD ICDS informed the gathering that as per the suggested event calendars of BBBP scheme along with celebration of Mother’s Day a slew of activities were also performed by the WCD including “Fathers Against Child Marriage, Special Campaign targeted at bringing together fathers of girl children, felicitating champion who helped in stopping child marriage and Simple Marriage but No Dowry”.
She also explained the Child Marriage Prohibition Act’ 2006 to the gathering and made them aware about the Act along with punishment for offenders.
Kaling Moyong, CDPO Pasighat and Ateng Pertin, CDPO Mebo also spoke on the occasion. As many as 70 participants took part in the event. (DIPRO)
