BJP rejects allegations of booth capturing

ITANAGAR, May 14: The Arunachal Pradesh BJP has categorically rejected the allegations of booth capturing, and vandalization of EVMs by the opposition parties NPP and ADF.

“There is no ground for demanding for declaration of polling in certain polling stations as null and void in 11-Seppa West (ST) Assembly Constituency. Further the demand for repolling in some polling stations of 28-Likabali Assembly Constituency and 36-Nari-Koyu Assembly Constituency have been made without any justification and grounds,” the BJP claimed.

It said that the allegations levelled by the NPP and ADP of poll violence and booth capturing in Seppa West and Nari Koyu constituencies are “unsubstantiated, baseless and politically motivated” to mislead the general public.

The mandatory scrutiny of polling process was conducted successfully by the DEO of the concerned districts in presence of the concerned RO, polling team, micro & general observer, and representatives from all political parties on April 24 (day of fresh poll).

“There is no records of any objection/complaint regarding booth capturing whatsoever. Some petty issue was reported at only one polling station i.e. at 11-Seppa of 7-sella Polling Station. The matter was taken up by the officials, thoroughly discussed and disposed of during the poll day scrutiny and moreover the misunderstanding was amicably resolved by the Parties in the presence of general observers, DEO, RO, Polling Team and NPP & BJP,” the Saffron party said.

It added, “BJP Arunachal Pradesh has strong faith that Election Commission of India (ECI) shall differentiate between genuine and bogus complaints and accordingly do the needful for the ends of Justice.”
