ITANAGAR, Jun 10: Arunachal Indigenous Tribes Forum (AITF) president Dr Bengia Tolum while chairing the first Joint Consultative Forum (JCF) meeting of the Forum for the session 2023-2026 at DK Convention Centre here on Sunday called for a mission mode approach on the ‘AITF School Adoption Programme’.
The resolution to adopt at least one school by the AITF apex federating CBOs of the State was adopted in the 2nd AITF general conference held at the Banquet Hall here in October 2023.
The theme of the maiden JCF meeting was ‘Tarh Tabin Committee Report on AITF School Adoption Programme’. After the clause by clause narration, the report on AITF School Adoption Programme tabled by its chairman in the meeting stands adopted, an AITF release said on Monday.
It added that upon threadbare discussion, a seven-point resolution was adopted. One of the key resolutions is: The State Government shall be urged to form a State Board of Education (SBE) and re-introduce the Inter-Village (IV) school system by pooling the manpower and other resources.
All the apex community based organizations (CBOs) shall adopt one school each or jointly in case of multi-community dwelling areas, as the case may be, and submit detailed report on proposed school adoption latest by June 30 to the AITF president, encompassing critical infrastructure like residential & non-residential buildings, power supply, water supply, road connectivity; classrooms, hostel (boys & girls), laboratories, sanitation system, and manpower requirement.
It further said, those who could not submit detailed reports of adopted schools on time shall be construed as not interested and “any further inclusion in future shall be subject to thorough scrutiny and reasoning”.
