AWWs undergo two-day capacity building training under Sampoornata Abhiyan

NAMSAI, Jul 9: As part of NITI Aayog-launched Sampoornata Abhiyan – a campaign focused on ensuring 100% saturation in six key indicators crucial for the socio-economic development of Aspirational district, a two-day capacity building training of AWWs to saturate health and nutrition KPIs was held on July 8 & 9 at the Circuit House hall, Namsai and Piyong Community Hall.

A total of 118 Anganwadi workers (AWWs) from the Namsai block participated in the training programme, which was facilitated by Trideep Dole.

Verification of the number of pregnant women was conducted using data provided by medical sources, ASHA and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), and additionally, ensuring that this data was accurately updated in the Poshan Tracker.

Furthermore, issues regarding data discrepancies on the Poshan Tracker were also addressed, with discussions on how to ensure accurate data entry.

Various topics including Take Home Ration (THR), community-based events, VHSND (Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Day), measurement efficiency, hot-cooked meals (HCM), home visits, immunization, pregnancy and delivery, pre-school education, and supplementary food distribution were discussed at the event.

The current Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) on nutrition for pregnant women receiving supplementary nutrition under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) were reviewed, and a roadmap was prepared to achieve 100% by September.

In addition to record-keeping mechanisms, documentation on various parameters was also discussed.

The training programme was attended by CDPOs, officials from ICDS department, Supervisors, Gram Sevika, ICDS Mentors, AWWs and Piramal Foundation Team of Namsai. (DIPRO)
