Capital DC launches HWC at Hokka vill

ITANAGAR, Jul 9: Hokka village (Jollang) has got a new Health & Wellness Centre (HWC), with Capital Itanagar Deputy Commissioner Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta inaugurating it today.

Speaking post the inauguration, the DC urged the residents to avail themselves of basic health services offered by the HWC. She emphasized the importance of public cooperation in the implementation of significant government initiatives, and encouraged the residents to support the HWC staff.

Further, the DC assured them of ‘full’ support to ensure the efficient functioning of the center.

ZPM Taro Tagia expressed hope that the health center will serve a large population and discussed plans to equip the center with more medical equipment in the near future.

District Medical Officer Dr Kipa Tuglik, in his speech, stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy life, especially as one ages.

DRCHO Dr Krishna Welly stated that the new facility replaced the old center at Birup village, which had become unfit for use due to various reasons. He informed that the project was completed through the collaborative efforts of the health staff of ICR, Jollang youths, and the local panchayat.

The event also witnessed the DC and the ZPM carrying out tree plantations at the location.

Among others, Dr Giri Tali (DVBDCPO), Dr Dominic Lokam, Dr Usha Devi (DANO), Dr Kipa Jitu (MO in charge of Chimpu), Junuma Murtem (HWO Jollang), panchayat leader, villagers, the public, and medical staff from the district and health center attended the event. (DIPRO)
