ITANAGAR, Jul 9: A community outreach program was conducted at Niti Vihar area today by Itanagar Capital Police led by SDPO Kengo Dirchi and Niti Vihar PS officer-in-charge Inspector T Tasso.
During the program, a foot patrolling was carried out from Punchali to Kola Camp, Niti Vihar covering 4 km along with concerned Ward members and youth. During the patrol, all sensitive and hotspot areas of Niti Vihar have been sensitised and inspected including Mahatma Gandhi Park, Niti Vihar.
A mass awareness meeting was conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Park, Niti Vihar where all stakeholders shared their grievances to the police and exhorted the youth to stay away from drugs and refrain from indulging in any dirty thing in the park.
SDPO Kengo Dirchi, while expressing gratitude to the ward members and youth, highlighted the main objective of community policing. He further added that constant support and cooperation from the public is necessary to keep a check on crime and criminals in the area.
