LIKABALI, Jul 10: Keeping in view the ongoing monsoon season and early warning for heavy rainfall received from the India Meteorological Department/Office (IMO), New Delhi in the entire part of Lower Siang district, Lower Siang Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman DDMA (District Disaster Management Authority) Rujjum Rakshap has come up with a monsoon advisory for the following week.
The DC-cum-Chairman DDMA issued the advisory for the general public of the district for strict adherence as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident during the monsoon.
It has been advised to avoid journey if is not at all very urgent, avoid venturing into rivers or streams, shun quarrying activities during the rainy days, stay updated with weather information, avoid construction and earth cutting, keep sufficient stock of essential items and prepare an emergency kit containing non-perishable food items, torch, battery, drinking water, first aid kit with medicines, look out for information from authentic sources and not to spread and believe in rumours.
