Coordination meet discusses issues faced by PGCIL, Power Dept

TAWANG, Jul 12: The latest progress and problems being faced in construction of 132 KV transmission line from Bomdila to Tawang and Lungla were discussed threadbare during a coordination meeting the Tawang Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang had with the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) and Power Department here today.

The house also discussed operation of the newly commissioned 7.5 MW Kangteng SHEP in isolation, so that Tawang could get uninterrupted power supply even if the grid line develops any fault. The Managing Director of Kangteng SHEP assured to do the required modifications to run the SHEP in isolation as and when required for the district.

Chief Engineer, Transmission, Monitoring & Planning, T K Tara discussed with the DC on  LT lines within the township and the need for making it underground for better and safe transmission of power supply, which would also do away with the odd looking jumbled wires over the beautiful township.

The Chief Engineer along with the officers of DoP and PGCIL later visited the under construction site of 132/33 KV EHV sub-station at Tawang and instructed the construction agencies for timely completion of the project to mitigate the power supply problem in the district. (DIPRO)
