Bid to boost academic performance: DC pays monitoring visit to GSS Soha

SOHA, Jul 12: Aimed at enhancing the academic performance and future career prospects of students in the region, Tirap Deputy Commissioner Ira Singhal on Friday paid a significant monitoring visit to the remote Govt Secondary School, Soha in the Tirap district.

The DC, who was accompanied by DDSE K C Lowangcha, CO (Soha) Dingzang Baham, and other staff from the DDSE’s office, had a coordination meeting with the school headmaster, Chief, GBs, PRIs, and students from Soha and nearby villages under the Soha administrative circle.

The meeting addressed the concerning zero percent results in the class X CBSE Exam 2023-24 with the DC directing the teaching staff and parents to implement the following measures within a week.

As directed by DC, all teachers posted at GSS Soha must settle at their quarters by next Monday. Parents-Teachers-Members’ meetings should be conducted within the next week. Remedial teaching should be conducted by respective subject teachers after the completion of formal classes for weaker/slow learner students starting next week. Morning assembly at the school must be completed before 9 am to ensure classes start promptly at 9.

The headmaster of GSS Soha was asked to submit a report on these points to the DC and DDSE by July 20. The report should include proof of compliance such as photographs and documents like attendance records of the PTM meeting and other related activities.

DDSE also addressed the meeting, advising parents to cooperate fully to achieve better results in the CBSE Exam 2024.

Overall, the career counseling session was a resounding success, enriching the students' understanding and inspiring them to explore new ideas for their futures. (DIPRO)
