APTTA urges for separate Technical Education Directorate

ITANAGAR, Jul 12: The Arunachal Pradesh Technical Teachers’ Association (APTTA) has urged the State Government for creation of a separate Directorate for Technical Education in the State.

Calling for rejuvenating technical education in the state in line with that of the Govt of Nagaland, the Association reasoned that Nagaland Govt created separate Directorate of Technical Education when it had only three polytechnic colleges, whereas Arunachal Pradesh has presently six polytechnic colleges (diploma level institute) and more are in the pipeline, including two Engineering Colleges (degree level institute) at Toru and Tezu.

This was discussed during APTTA’s visit to Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona at his office chamber in the Civil Secretariat here today. The APTTA team led by its president Bengia Taday apprised the Minister about various problems faced by the technical teachers in imparting programmes of engineering, technology & management etc.

They expressed confidence that Sona‘s leadership will bring about significant positive changes in the state’s education system. They also assured that APTTA stands ready to support his initiatives and collaborate to achieve their shared goal of enhancing quality technical education in the State.
