Aalo stadium will be completed by Oct 2024 end: Kento Jini

AALO, Jul 31: Amid concerns over the delay in construction of long awaited Aalo stadium in West Siang district which was sanctioned a decade back, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini has divulged that the long pending Aalo stadium will be completed by the end of October this year.

The Minister stated this today while chairing a coordination-cum-district level monitoring committee (DLMC) meeting, which spotlighted key issues such as improvement and beautification of Aalo township, immediate completion of Aalo stadium, and early construction of 50-bedded General Hospital, Aalo.

He asked the EE, PWD Aalo to issue a letter to the contractor of the 50-bedded hospital as to why the hospital building has been discontinued from last one year. He directed the highway authorities and UD department to set right the water logging issue at Aalo township market area. The Yomgo River Festival (YRF) is to be celebrated from this year at Aalo, he informed.

With the year 2024 declared as ‘Year of the Youth’, Jini stated that for this the state government has taken up various welfare measures for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh. The “qualified” students will get 100% financial aid from the state government, which will provide 75% incentive to those students who opt to study abroad in recognized universities of the world, he added.

The Minister urged the Superintendent of Police to make West Siang a drug free district, saying the youth of the district are involved in drug menace which creates nuisance in society.

While appealing to all officers and the District Administration to make West Siang the ‘best and model’ district of Arunachal Pradesh, he urged the officers not to appease the RTI activist, and also told them to work dedicatedly for development of the district.

Speaking at the meeting, West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mamu Hage informed the house that the District Administration has taken many steps for improvement, beautification and plastic free campaign in the district. She added that CCTV cameras will be installed in various strategic locations for the security of the citizens.

The DC urged all HoDs and officers of the district not to use plastic products in their offices, saying an executive order has already been issued to all admin officers.

Earlier, District Planning Officer Marjum Karga presented the opening remarks.

The meeting was attended by SP Aalo Abhimanyu Poswal, Assistant Commissioner Prince Kumar, ADC (HQs) Mabi Taipodia Jini, ADC Kamba Tamo Riba, and HoDs of various departments among others.

Later, the District Olympic Association, West Siang felicitated Jini for his induction as Cabinet Minister in Pema Khandu Govt. (DIPRO)
