AALO, Aug 1: Sports & Youth Affairs, Law, Legislative & Justice, and Social Justice, Empowerment and Tribal Affairs Minister Kento Jini, along with a team of officers including West Siang Deputy Commissioner Hage Mamu inspected various ongoing projects during his four-day visit to the district and directed the contractors and executing agencies to not compromise with quality of works.
The Minister and his team inspected the sports complex at Darka, infrastructure development of Govt Hr Sec School, Aalo, outdoor stadium of Aalo, multipurpose hall and construction of multi-storey parking lots, and mini secretariat at Aalo.
While interacting with the contractors and executing agencies, Jini urged them not to compromise with quality of work and complete these major and important projects in due time.
He assured to renovate the Darka sports complex for sports activities and temporary accommodation for the staff and officers for Para Medical College, which will be constructed at Kombo area in compliance with the agreement made between Govt and land donor.
The outdoor stadium of Aalo will be completed by the end of October 2024, assured the manager of the construction company. The Minister urged the people of nearby Aalo township to donate the land for the development of the area. He urged all the executing agencies to utilize the fund judiciously for which it was sanctioned by the Govt.
On Wednesday, the District Olympic Association felicitated the Minister for being inducted into the Khandu Cabinet. Jini urged the Olympic Association to encourage and identify the young talented sportspeople of the district.
The Minister's four-day visit to Aalo ended today. (DIPRO)
