ITANAGAR, Sep 9: The three-month-long internship training programme for BSc Forestry final year students from different colleges and universities of the country, attached at State Forest Research Institute, Department of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, has begun at Dr Verrier Elwin Conference Hall, SFRI here today.
A total of 24 trainees have enrolled for the internship training programme on Forestry field working experiences and hands-on training on forest based industries.
Inaugurating the training programme, Dr K Althaf Ahmed Kabeer, Head, Botanical Survey of India (BSI), Itanagar Centre, advised the trainees to avail the opportunities to enhance their knowledge to make themselves more clear on the gap between theoretical knowledge in the college and practical knowledge of the field.
Among others, SFRI Director H B Ab, Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) Joint Director Dr G Srinivasan, and DFO (Silviculture) Tilling Takar also spoke on the occasion.
