Female voters outnumber males again as Arunachal records 0.99% rise in electors

Itanagar, Jan 6: Like the previous years, female voters have outnumbered their male counterparts in Arunachal Pradesh, which also witnessed further improvement in the gender ratio over the preceding year, as per the latest data released by the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The hilly state has also registered an overall increase of 0.99 per cent voters during the last one year.

Arunachal Pradesh currently has a total of 8,91,518 voters across 60 Assembly Constituencies, out of whom 4,53,905 are females and 4,37,609 males, while the number of transgender electors is four, according to the Final Photo Electoral Rolls, 2025 published by the Chief Electoral Officer, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday (January 6, 2025).

“As per the Final Photo Electoral Rolls, 2025, overall increase of electors over the previous Final Rolls is 0.99%. In the Final Roll, total Electors are 8,91,518, including Male Electors -4,37,609, Female Electors – 4,53,905 and Third Gender Electors – 4,” Arunachal Pradesh Joint Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Liken Koyu said in a statement.

Now, Arunachal Pradesh has 1037 female voters per thousand male voters, while the State had 1036 female voters for every 1,000 male voters in the previous year.

“The gender ratio of Arunachal Pradesh, as per Final Electoral Roll 2025, is 1037,” the Joint CEO said.

Itanagar Assembly Constituency, which falls under the Arunachal West Parliamentary seat, has the highest number of voters (63,878), while Anini Assembly segment under Arunachal East Parliamentary seat has the least number of electors at 4,778, Koyu said.

The ECI had issued the schedule for the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2024 as the qualifying date, in all 60 Assembly Constituencies of the State. As per schedule, the final publication of photo electoral rolls were made today (January 6, 2025) in all the polling stations, designated locations, and EROs and AEROs headquarters of respective Assembly Constituencies.

“The main focus was to include the name of young voters who have attained the age of 18 years on January 1, 2025 and also to remove the names of multiple voters (duplicate entries) in accordance with the guidelines of the ECI,” he said. 

All the newly enrolled electors can check their names in the Final Electoral Rolls of 2025 uploaded in the State CEO's website https://ceoarunachal.nic.in or https://voters.eci.gov.in or Voters Helpline App. Additionally, the newly published Electoral Rolls have also been shared to all the political parties of the State, the Joint CEO informed.
